Gordon Brown: more bias from the BBC

"You have been respected as a Chancellor" said John Humphries when interviewing Gordon Brown this morning. He added, "I don't think many people would disagree about that." His tone was positively dismissive of the idea that anybody doubts that Gordon Brown has been an excellent Chancellor.

This is a simple case of BBC bias. There are indeed many people who do not respect Gordon Brown's record as a Chancellor. Indeed, when I have written critically about him in the past (use the search facility if you like), the comments I have received have been in the nature of "And here's something else he did wrong..."

Humphries is, of course, a superb interviewer. One can only conclude that he is surrounded by other BBC people who have pro-Brown views. He has come genuinely to believe that virtually nobody has much to say against Gordon Brown's record. This suggests that pro-Left political bias is extrememly widespread among people in the BBC. It is, indeed, an institutional bias.

To be honest, I don't think this is the biggest issue.

Last night, the bbc led on "brown cuts the basic rate of tax by 2p". This headline has now disappeared, but for 12 hours gave the impression that Gordon Brown had cut taxes - completely untrue.

I was frankly disgusted that the "number 1" uk news site led on this - he admitted himself that the budget was "neutral" - in reality it shifts the tax burden slightly away from those who don't work, towards those who do. Another great GB budget.

...however, I completely agree with the sentiment - we're repeatedly told that Gordon Brown "might be risking his economic rocord" or that Gordon Brown is "concerned abou this reputation as a prudent chancellor", and when I see this, I could (literally) cry.

The truth is that "GB" takes 45%+ of GDP (and growing), and people don't seen to realise that this means that he takes 45%+ OF THE OUTPUT OF OUR 9-5(+++++) JOBS.

I really don't understand. How can you not be bothered?

The real irony is that the BBC on Radio 4 on all programmes but especially Today is lauding this week's budget as "dramatic" and "reforming" whereas in reality GB(H) has shot himself in the foot in punishing poorer wage earners by removing the 10% level that he himself introduced.
I threw my TV out 3 years ago due to BBC bias and dumbing down so did not see the "shock" on Cameron's and Osborn's faces when the 2p reduction in tax was announced at the end of his speech, but I find it hard to believe as shock since he had already mentioned the removel of the 10% tax band - and as everyone knows GBH is certainly not a charitable person.
His later "apology" on radio stating he was a simple father of 2 children trying to do his best for them and the country was worthy of an Emmy at least.
